AI search for UAE law firms
Chambers ranks you. Does ChatGPT know you exist?
When a client in the UAE asks an assistant for a lawyer, the answer is split between legal directories at one end and small firms publishing their own "top 10" lists at the other. Many well-regarded mid-tier firms appear in neither. In our research, elite firms leaned almost entirely on Chambers and Legal 500 and had little presence of their own in AI answers.
The moment
Where the shortlist is decided
A senior executive in Dubai is about to negotiate an exit. He does not want to ask colleagues. He asks an assistant which lawyers handle executive exits under DIFC employment law, then asks what the process looks like.
The names in that answer are the firms he contacts. A practice that is ranked by the directories but has never published a clear answer to that question often is not among them.
The assistant names a few firms and practitioners, drawing on directory rankings, firm practice pages and self-published lists. The firm that answers the question clearly on its own site is the one that gets quoted.
The sources
Where AI gets its picture of you
Legal directories
Chambers and Legal 500 rankings are strong signals for corporate questions. They carry less weight for specific client questions.
Practice and people pages
Clear pages per practice area and per partner, answering the questions clients ask, are what a model can lift.
Self-published firm lists
Small firms writing "best lawyers in Dubai" lists fill the gap where no one else answers the question.
Legal and business press
Commentary and coverage in regional legal and business press are independent corroboration.
Court and regulator sources
DIFC Courts and ADGM Courts publications and registers help verify who practises where.
Insight articles
Well-structured, dated articles on changes in UAE law are frequently retrieved when clients ask practical questions.
The rules
Within professional conduct rules
Law firms in the UAE operate under professional conduct and advertising rules that differ between onshore and the financial free zones. AI visibility work for a firm is about clarity and accuracy, not claims. Everything is reviewed by the firm before it goes live.
What we find
The three gaps we see most
01
Relying on directory rankings alone
Rankings help for corporate questions but say little about who handles a specific client situation. The answer to that question comes from pages that address it.
02
Partner profiles that are hard to parse
Credentials, practice areas and jurisdictions buried in PDFs or images are invisible to the systems that assemble answers.
03
Insight that is not findable
Good legal analysis locked behind registration or published without clear structure is not read by assistants.
How we start
Same method, your category
We are not a law firms agency. We help UAE companies become the answer AI assistants give, and every engagement starts the same way: a conversation about your business, then a look at what ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews actually say when your customers ask. We show you the answers, who gets named, where the assistants get their information, and what we would change.
We are in Dubai and would rather meet in person, anywhere in the UAE.

Questions
Asked and answered
How do law firms in Dubai get recommended by AI assistants?
By answering the questions clients actually ask, clearly and on their own site, with partner and practice pages that are easy to read and consistent with directory listings and press coverage. Rankings help; clarity decides.
We are ranked in Chambers. Why does ChatGPT not mention us?
Directory rankings are one source among many, and they are strongest for broad corporate questions. Specific client questions are answered from pages that address them. If your firm has not published a clear answer, someone else's page is used.
